Clinical History: Baby K. Sameeksha is 3 years old girl presented with history of
high grade intermittent fever associated with chills and rigors,gradual onset of pallor with fast breathing since last 7 days. For the above complaints, child was admitted at referral hospital. She was given 1 PRBC transfusion
In view of anaemia. For the above complaints, child was admitted in the Hospital.she was admitted in PICU in view of respiratory distress and was started on bicarbonate containing IV fluids and IV antibiotics. She was also started on prophylactic antifungals with mouth care in view of low ANC.
In view of fever with hepatomspleenomegaly with lymphadenopathy with pancytopenia and high LDH, possibility of Acute leukaemia was considered, so child underwent bone marrow aspiration with biopsy with CSF analysis was done to evaluate for the same and diagnosed to have B- Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia. As she was hemodynamically stable,accepting oral feeds well and maintaining saturation at room air,
she was shifted to ward for further management. She was started on chemotherapy UK ALL protocol total treatment is for 2 years. The treatment part consists of initial intensive phase for 10 months followed by maintenance.
