B/O Laxmi, 5 days old male baby was born to at early term (37 weeks) gestation by LSCS in view of previous LSCS to a mother with apparently no antenatal complications. Baby cried immediately after birth. After birth baby developed respiratory distress and was admitted in NICU at Khammam. In view of worsening respiratory distress despite continued respiratory support, baby was transferred to Ankura NICU, Kukatpally on 3rd day of life.
Baby was euthermic, euglycemic . Vital signs were HR-150/min, RR-68/min and SPO2-96% with 60% of FiO2. Bilateral air entry was equal. Sub costal and intercostal retractions were present. Heart: S1 S2 present, Grade 2 systolic murmur. Perfusion decreased, normotensive. Abdomen was soft. On CNS examination baby was active with tone. Other systems were normal. There were no other obvious external anomalies.
